iOS App of the Day – Upside Down Camera
Wednesday, April 19, 2017
Every day more than 350 million Facebook photos and 95
million Instagram photos are shared. When we share photos with our family and
friends, we want them to look good. This is why apps that allow you to edit
photos have become very popular. There are many choices of apps that have photo
editing tools such as filters, brightness, vignette and cropping, but it can be
a challenge deciding which ones are the best.
Whatever you choose, they all do the same – they offer tons
of filters to improve your photos, but today we have something different,
something authentic. We’re talking about an app called Upside Down Camera,
developed by Morgan Holland and launched on the iOS platform few weeks ago. If
you’re wondering what the app is about, read on the article.
What is Upside Down
Camera & Why We Love It?
Did you know that pro photographers compose images upside
down to engage their left side of the brain and ensure photos are balanced
between positive and negative space - color, shapes, and areas of light and dark?
Yup, that’s true, when you edit your photos in a normal way, you’re using the
right side of your brain (the creative and visual one) and that is how you see the image as a whole. But if you want to
use the other side of your brain and look at the parts first, and then put them
in a logical order, you should edit your images upside down – and that’s what
the Upside Down Camera app allows you. It lets you compose balanced images and
makes us abstract the composition down into its basic elements.
If you want to try this technique and see it for yourself,
you can download Upside Down Camera for free from the App Store. It is design
with smooth UI and compatible with both iPhone and iPad.
