iOS App of the Week – Yago
Wednesday, March 23, 2016
One of the apps we used the most in the last few weeks was
the social networking iOS app called Yago. Why? We loved it the first moment we
installed it. The app is a simple way to share anything that is going around
you and your location. You can share video, photos, text or even emoji.
With
the intuitive and smooth UI and the features, Yago enables you to show
everything you share on an interactive map. But, there is an exciting twist,
everything you post on the map disappears after 24h!
But not everything gets automatically shared on Yago. The
app will share only the info you are interested in sharing and manually choose
within the app. If you want to share your location, the post you share to that
particular location will stay there for 24h and after that will disappear forever.
This is a cool feature in which you can share a specific moment you’ve
experienced, like a sunrise in Los Angeles, and other users will re-experience that
moment for 24h.
You can even control whether the posts will go public or
private. If you decide to go public, all of your posts will be seen from the entire
community and will be shown on the map. If you decide to post private, then
only the people that followed you can see the post.
Yago can be a great tool if you want to promote or engage
your local community. Any place or event can be shared within the app, so you
can also use it as a discovery tool to find new cool places to go out or eat.
It’s practically a combination of Instagram and Snapchat. Get this wonderful
app that is already having a solid user base and is critically acclaimed by
media.
