App Review - BagSentry App will monitor your checked baggage easily
Tuesday, December 1, 2015
Baggage mishandling is a problem that many people around the
world face on daily basis. Truly, it is an awful feeling when you wait your
baggage after your arrival and simply it’s not there. Then you have to wait for
certain period of time to get your things back. Sometimes this process can take
for weeks and you will not know where your personal belongings are located.
One new solution that can be really helpful in such
frustrating situations has emerged recently. We are talking about the app BagSentry.
This app will give the exact locations where your luggage was mishandled and
lost. Also, you will be able to create detailed reports about your luggage
trip. In order the app to work, you will need a device that was built and is
currently getting funds from the Kickstarter community.
We are talking about the re-usable sensor called Sentinel.
It is created in a way that is not harmful and that is why it can pass through
any airport control because it is FAA/TSA compliant. With it you will be able
to monitor your luggage and pets during air travel. The app will enable you to
create reports and help you see whether your bags were opened or dropped, or if
your pet was treated harshly. This is possible because the sensor can detect
high shock and humidity.
The detailed PDF report you will get through the app can be
used as an evidence to the airline. On top of that the app will also act as a
travel app that will help you organize and manage your trips. If you travel
frequently, this can be a great all-round travel tool. The app is intuitive,
light, smooth and fast. The design and the typography are modern and pleasant
to the eye.
In order to use the app you need to make an account. After
that you can easily setup and connect the app with Sentinel. In order to make
the report for each trip more relevant and usable you need to setup few steps
after you paired the app with the sensor. First, you need to enter the airline,
flight number and date. Then you need to select the range. If you successfully
get the luggage, all you need to do is plug in the sensor to your PC via the
USB connector. The data then needs to be uploaded to the web portal and your
report for that trip will be emailed to you. You can details review your report
to see if there was damage, breakage and even theft. You can even add photos to
make the report even more realistic and relevant.
BagSentry is an innovative app and together with the
innovative sensor can offer great value and help to the end users, especially
for the ones that travel frequently. You can read more about the app and the device on their
Kickstarter page.
