Game of the Day - FingR

Thursday, November 27, 2014

FingR - stay in the line is a maze/ puzzle game that allows the player to navigate through mazes that are unpredictable, challenging, and not automatically generated like other games. The player uses their finger to travel through each maze, collecting coins they can use to buy and activate powers such as TNT and teleporting, as well as extra lives. The coins also allow the player to unlock new, hidden paths through the different mazes.

The theme is similar to that of Nintendo Mario games, with similar graphics and colors. The app features 80 levels, ranging in difficulty from beginner to expert, that become more challenging as you complete each level. Every level also has a unique soundtrack, similar to arcade style games, to go along with the players progress through the maze.

The games is very easy to play, simply touch your finger to the screen and hold it on the screen, using it to guide your way through the maze. To navigate through each maze, you slide your finder on the screen, avoiding the walls and collecting coins and powers along the way. If you want to pause the game, to buy a power or to take a break, simply remove your finger from the screen and the game pauses automatically.

The simple controls allow you to jump right into the action, unlike other games with learning the controls and functions can be challenging and take away from the gameplay. Using the powers that you buy can be confusing, but there is a tutorial that walks you through each step of the game. You can also share and compare your scores to your friends through Game Center.

The gameplay is fast and easy to use, making it different than other more advanced games that require many different combinations of controls. The app is optimized for the most recent mobile devices and new updates keep the gameplay smooth and continue to add new features the game. Some downsides to the game are that if a person has larger fingers it can be difficult to see and navigate through the maze, especially on the smaller devices. The screen can also become dirty or smudged while playing, causing movement through the maze to be difficult and gameplay to become challenging.

Overall, the game is fun and easy to play, without many negatives. It can be found at the Google Play Store at a FREE of cost to download here:
